i really feel that RP's SYSTEM IS A BAD ONE.

 

WHY IS IT BAD?

it would suit those who are MORE ACTIVE, MORE NOT-SHY, and those who's brains can MOVE FASTER.

those who are "quietly studying" kind, may NOT really benefit from the system.

so what if their UT grades is HOLLY GOOD but their daily grade is like COW DUNG?

they won't be the top, they can't be the best & neither can they benefit the MOST.

those active ones, lucky for them, because their "activity" will cause them to really understand everything & thus excel.

this isn't UNFAIRNESS but "COMPATIBLENESS".

it sucks because

- the facilitator MAY BE BIASED.

so what if they check on the biasness of the facilitator?

they may be able to find "certain" cases of biasness, but can they find ALL?

i doubt so.

isn't this UNFAIRNESS?

- the facilitator may be "CHEATED"

some students, like a few people in MY CLASS, just ACT AS IF THEY ARE SO EXCITED IN THE DAY'S PROBLEM & ONLY CONTRIBUTE WHEN THE FACILITATOR IS IN CLASS & DURING DISCUSSIONS BUT WHEN THE FACILITATOR IS GONE, THE STUDENT(S) IS PLAYING GAMES ORWATCHING MOVIES?

( i am NOT pointing fingers at anyone )

seriously I HAVE TOLERATED ENOUGH OF THIS KINDA "UNFAIRNESS".

perhaps the facilitators just feel that the "ACTIVE" ones have DONE UP THE BEAUTIFUL & RESOURCEFUL PPT?

& do ALL facilitators look through student's evaluation?

so what if they LOOK THROUGH IT EVERY SINGLE LESSON?

as if THEY BELIEVE?

won't they believe MORE ON WHAT THEY SEE RATHER THAN OTHER'S OPINIONS?

just a piece of shit.

working in groups ISN'T BAD, and this is PBL, NO WAY TO CHANGE IT.

but some people whom have FREAKING ATTITUDE PROBLEM, BUT IS SO FREAKING ACTIVE TOO, won't they HAVE BEAUTIFUL GRADES TOO?

often, it's THIS KINDA PEOPLE who "pulls" down a group.

they are loud.

they are active.

they contribute ideas, as if only they can PRODUCE great ideas.

facilitators LOVE THEM because these "people" helps to get the class "running smoothly" by contributing.

and it's these people who HAVE ATTITUDE PROBLEMS, CONTRIBUTE HALF HEARTEDLY TO THE GROUP'S PRESENTATION.

perhaps SOME lecturers in other POLYS find that RP HAS A VERY GOOD SYSTEM BUT IT'S THE REPUTATION THAT IS LACKING.

THIS IS NOT TRUE AT ALL, PLEASE.

In RP, it's all ABOUT TEAM WORK, you do one part, and another will do another part.

some lazy ones have NO PART, but get great grades.

one person only have 1 part, but some just have NO PART, probably because there isn't anymore "part" to work on already, so this person is FREE.

FREE, meaning, lesser knowledge learned.

and how many students in RP would bother to look through their presentations after school, go through them, and see what they have really learnt?

sometimes, just have to read through the slides, and add some COMMON SENSE explanation, and that's it.

WHAT IS REALLY BEING LEARNT?

Shouldn't SINGAPORE DEVELOP MORE TALENTS?

talents are NEVER ENOUGH I SUSPPOSE.

Dropout/Withdraw Rates is HIGHEST in RP? When students leave RP, they could HARDLY BE ACCEPTED IN ANY OTHER POLYS ANYMORE.

they could be some people who are RETARDED who DO NOT FEEL LIKE STUDYING ANYMORE(they DESERVE IT), or just some WHO CAN NO LONGER STAY WITH RP'S SYSTEM.

If RP'S SYSTEM IS THE "ROOT CAUSE" then what is wrong?

the school?

or the student's adaptability?

it is true that students NEED TO adapt to the "outside", but RP's system would be a challenge to "O" level students.

Perhaps MOE can have a TRIAL class in RP for "O" level students to see if they like it ?

 

i DO NOT HATE RP, but the system just have MANY "LOOP HOLES".

1 PBL school in SINGAPORE IS ENOUGH ALREADY, i don't think we ever need a 2nd one.

Maybe you'ld say PBL's system can help a student gain MORE CONFIDENCE, and be BETTER when moving to workforce, but how about graduates from other POLYS?

Have they REALLY SUFFERED ALOT WHEN WORKING?

OR HAVE THEY BEEN SACKED, FIRED OR HAVE BECAME A BEGGAR?

they too, are surviving STRONGLY IN THE OUTSIDE WORLD NOW.

Maybe you would say it can help the students GAIN MORE CONFIDENCE & GET RID OF THEIR "SHY NESS" OR "SCARED NESS"?

But i feel that this is PART OF LIFE.

you get older, you become more mature, you go to the outside world, be more competitive, and you will soon grow.

the reality MAKE YOU GROW.

it's like doing experiments, one of them tell you what to do & you do a "thought experiment" but another equip you with what is needed, give you experiences.

which would be better?
